About Our Organization
Our Why
Wellspring Community exists to celebrate adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities so that lives are changed as individual potential is unlocked.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a community where adults with I/DD are empowered to live full, productive, and satisfying lives in a God-centered environment.
We accomplish our mission through a robust day program, meaningful work opportunities, and innovative residential services.
Our Story
Wellspring Community was started in 2008 by our founder, Mary Lou, who taught her daughter and three friends how to bake cookies in her home. It has since grown into a full-time, year-round program providing services to over 100 adults with I/DD from seven counties.
Day Program
Educational and enrichment opportunities that are diverse and community-focused. People receiving our services select their schedule of classes from our extensive Program offerings to create an individualized enrichment experience all their own. People can elect to participate in programming on-site or access Wellspring Online.
Work Opportunities
Though they are an asset to the workforce, people with I/DD face many barriers when seeking employment. At Wellspring, adults with I/DD are thriving in Business enterprises that are meaningful, diverse, and inclusive. Wellspring's unique model or pairing day programming and work opportunities provides a flexible approach that better meets the needs of people with I/DD and their families.
Residential Services
Mary Lou's initial vision for Wellspring included a place where her daughter Emily and her friends could grow, learn, and live their lives in community through residential service offerings. The state of Colorado is facing a housing crisis with very few solutions available to people with I/DD. Unity on Park is Wellspring's first step in addressing this need and making Mary Lou's vision a reality. Residents at Unity on Park will receive innovative care and support while experiencing freedom and belonging with an intentionally integrated community of people who have disabilities and people who do not. This marks a significant milestone in providing supportive and independent living solutions.
