About Rocky Mountain Village

Program Vision: For campers to experience a safe, welcoming, environment guided by trained, caring staff who support campers’ efforts so that when they return home, they are more self-reliant and independent.

Program Overview: In 1951, Easterseals Colorado’s Rocky Mountain Village (RMV) ran its first summer session with 36 campers attending. Since, RMV camp has provided enriching, memorable, and life-changing recreational camping services annually for more than 1,300 children (six years old and up), adolescents, and adults, who live with a wide spectrum of disabilities, both cognitive and physical. RMV is fully accessible and provides a safe, barrier-free environment for its campers to experience all aspects of camp without usual limitations. All programs stress independence and challenge for people with disabilities in a cooperative outdoor living environment. The program is licensed by the Colorado Department of Social Services and is accredited by the American Camping Association.
