  • La Reserva Biopark

    Through a partnership with a foundation in Cota, Colombia, La Reserva Biopark can support the following projects:

    • Education for conservation: around 35,000 visitors per year to La Reserva Biopark can have a better experience leading to changes in attitudes and behaviors toward conservation.
    • Research on Endangered species: Ex situ conservation of endangered species support is important in order to develop husbandry and breeding protocols for rare and endemic species, La Reserva Biopark has several national conservation projects including the Harpy eagle (Harpya harpyja), the mountain coati (Nasuella olivacea) and the flame winged parakeet (Phyrrura calliptera).
    • Ecosystem restoration: the reserve of 20 hectares of the endangered high Andean Forest at La Reserva Biopark its being restored to its original state through a unique long-term program that includes all the visitors to the park.
  • Caldas Project

    Andean Ecosystem restoration project to protect two endemic frogs: Andinobates ophistomelas and Andinobates daleswansoni.

  • Valle del Cauca Project

    Your donation will go towards

    • Supporting research funding and equipment for students of the Del Valle University herpetological group, funding of the Oophaga poison frogs genetic research project, and development of a environmental education program.
    • The development of sustainable incomes for the citizens of Valle del Cauca through ecotourism which will be centered on local and endemic amphibian conservation.
  • The Tolima Project

    Support small-scale and eco-friendly sustainable solutions to conservation by supporting coffee producers that protect the endemic and endangered Andinobates doriswansonae and tolimensis poison frogs.

  • The Nariño Project and virtual Tesoros experience

    Donors participate in their own virtual Tesoros experience

    Donors to the Nariño project will participate with the Tesoros de Colombia team in a live virtual tour of the Tesoros facility, experience the work of the Tesoros team, and learn about the newest Tesoros de Colombia projects.

    Your donations will:

    • Support the purchase of one-hectare of lowland rainforest in Nariño, the habitat of Oophaga sylvatica
    • Fund the purchase of land for the creation of a reserve for Oophaga sylvatica and hundreds of other threatened plant and animal species
    • Improve community support for the communities environment
