About Our Organization

Denver Urban Gardens provides both the soil and the know-how that enables students, individuals and families to grow healthy, organic food while connecting with other members of their community. We have more than 181 DUG gardens throughout metro-Denver-area neighborhoods, with more than 17,000 Denver metro area gardeners, impacting 34,000 nearby residents. DUG gardeners grow food, but more than that, they grow community. We put down deep roots, providing resources, training, and support needed to establish enduring gardens and farms that become valuable assets to neighborhoods. We do all of this with respect for all people and the environment.

DUG takes a holistic approach to increasing food access. In addition to our community gardens, our public education programs like our Master Gardener and Master Composter classes, our youth education programs, our low-income qualifying program, Grow A Garden, and our online gardening resources, ensure that we reach a larger, more diverse community base. Our programs served over 50,000 people in the Denver metro area in 2018.
