Thank you for supporting the Colorado Outward Bound School (COBS)!
We are a Colorado nonprofit with a mission to change lives through challenge and discovery. Founded in 1962 in Marble, Colorado on the belief that all people can discover their true potential through challenge in the outdoors, COBS has transformed thousands upon thousands of lives through 3- to 81-day active learning and character-building expeditions, such as backpacking, rafting and mountaineering in remote areas of the Rocky Mountain West, particularly in Colorado and Utah.
It is our vision to build a more resilient, compassionate world by building more resilient, compassionate citizens. We believe that effective learning includes tangible and powerful experiences for students to gain self-esteem, discover and hone innate abilities and build a sense of community toward others, and that challenging experiences lead to the most growth. This year, we are serving over 1,700 students on our transformational wilderness courses, and over 250 students on scholarships.
The Black Tie & Tennis Shoes is COBS's annual gathering to support and celebrate our students and our mission, with opportunities to directly support scholarships. We hope you will join us for one of Colorado's most fun annual fundraisers!
